ARCO is a world-renowned research group in the areas of computer architecture and compilers for future computing systems, with a long track record of publications in collaboration with industry. Current research projects focus on the following areas:
ARCO is offering a number of scholarship grants for students of the Master in Innovation and Research in Informatics. Successful candidates will join the group to carry out their Master thesis in leading edge research projects of the group related to these topics.
We are seeking bright and highly motivated students with an interest in deepening their research background in the area of computer architecture, especially in the topics listed above.
The duration of each scholarship is for 2 years for new Master students and 1 year for students in their second year of the Master.
After completing the master, selected candidates may opt for a scholarship to pursue a PhD in the ARCO research group.
Interested candidates should submit the following documents in English by Email to antonio@ac.upc.edu (Prof. Antonio González - http://people.ac.upc.edu/antonio/):
The amount of the grants is 6,000 € per year.
The CBA research group has recently started a specific division in the area of AI applied to Computer Networks.
In this area, the CBA group has pioneered the use of Graph Neural Networks (GNN) in networking and developed the first GNN framework for computer networks (github.com/knowledgedefinednetworking/ignnition).
Recently, it has also organized the "Graph Neural Networking Challenge 2020" in collaboration with the ITU-T, which attracted 120 participants of 24 different countries (https://bnn.upc.edu/challenge2020).
The CBA group is offering a number of scholarships for students of the Master in Innovation and Research in Informatics (MIRI) interested in AI and/or computer networks.
The objective of the scholarship is to gather research experience on these topics and eventually develop the Master Thesis. The scholarships will be between 1 and 2 years and will be carried in the context of a large industrial project with a major multinational technology company.
Interested candidates should submit their CV and academic record (transcript) over email to professors Pere Barlet (pbarlet@ac.upc.edu) and Albert Cabellos (acabello@ac.upc.edu).
The amount of the grants is 6,000 € per year.
The inLab FIB offers a limited number of the inLab Talent grants for master’s degree students at the Barcelona School of Informatics during the 2019-2020 academic year. These grants provide funding that is linked to students’ participation in R&D&i projects in collaboration with important ICT companies.
The collaboration will require 20 hours of work per week.

The Spanish Ministry of Education has launched its annual call for “collaboration grants”. These grants are intended for first-year master students who wish to carry out collabora have work with university departments in research activity or in practices related to their studies.
The UPC Research Group in Discrete, Combinatorial and Computational Geometry is willing to incorporate a student with a collaboration grant. You can find information on our research group through this link: https://dccg.upc.edu/
In order to apply for one of these grants, you must submit a collaboration project with a university department. If you are interested, we will discuss and write the project with you.
The mean grade is computed as follows:
Grade_of_a_course = (points * course_number_of_credits) / (total_number_of_credits)
Total_grade = sum of the grades of all the courses
Projects must be submitted for evaluation to the university by September 4. Therefore, we urge you to contact us in order to prepare all the paperwork and submit the application in time.
